John Walker & Sons Bicentenary Blend 28 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

A 28 year old blended Scotch whisky from John Walker & Sons, made to mark 200 years since John Walker opened a small grocery store in Kilmarnock in 1820. Master Blender Jim Beveridge drew on the flavours listed in an original inventory from that store. The blend includes whiskies from Pittyvaich, Cambus and Port Ellen, all at least 28 years old. The nose brings dried fruit such as sultanas and figs, candied ginger, berries, brown sugar and aromatic spices, with soft smoke. Honey, molasses, cocoa and herbal notes follow on the palate, and a sweet spice lingers in the finish.
