John Walker & Sons King George V is a blended Scotch whisky, here in a limited edition design made to celebrate 2021, the Year of the Ox. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. The blend draws on whiskies from casks that include some from the now silent Port Ellen distillery. The artwork is a modern take on traditional Chinese patterns, inspired by Asian couture, with a contemporary knot design recalling the custom of weaving and hanging knots for good fortune in the new year. Rich fruit and plenty of spice are balanced by creamy vanilla sweetness, with maritime Port Ellen smoke carrying into a long finish.
