Johnnie Walker Black Label Extra Special Old Scotch Whisky is a blended Scotch from the 1990s, made by John Walker & Sons and bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle.
The nose has pronounced highland peat smoke and bonfire, layered with raisins, dates and figs, caramel, toffee and creamy chocolate, plus orange peel, cinnamon, clove and a light sherry background. The palate is silky, full and slightly waxy, starting with malt, molasses and vanilla before toasted barley, ginger and dry spice arrive, with wood smoke and peat in the middle.
The finish is long and warm, with peat smoke, cured oak, light wood tannins and dried fruit.
