Johnnie Walker Black Ruby (1L, 40%)

Johnnie Walker Black Ruby is a blended Scotch whisky in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 40%. Master Blender Dr Emma Walker and her team built it around fruit, using whisky from the Roseisle Distillery among others. The blend includes whiskies from red wine casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso, as well as from bourbon casks, which add vanilla. A restrained note of smoke runs through it. The nose offers dark cherries, fruit preserve, vanilla, caramel and raisins, with some pepper, tobacco and a hint of fresh oak. The palate is juicy and light, with raspberry jam, blackberry cake, honey, figs and plums, plus caramel, chocolate and ginger biscuit. The finish brings dried fruit, gentle spice and a fine thread of smoke.
