Johnnie Walker – Blenders' Batch Red Rye Finish (70cl, 40%)

This is a blended Scotch whisky from Johnnie Walker, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is labelled No. 1 in the Blenders' Batch range. The blend combines malt and grain whiskies, including grain from the now-closed Port Dundas distillery. It was matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then finished in rye casks. The nose is sweet and fruity, with vanilla, crème brûlée and orchard apple over a light spiciness from the oak and rye. The palate is soft and creamy, with honey, caramel and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with rye spice, a trace of smoke and vanilla.
