Johnnie Walker Blue Label 1990s (70cl, 40%)

Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1990s, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. The label calls it a blend of the very rarest whiskies, and this bottle carries an individual bottle number. The nose is fragrant and complex, with candied green apple, pears and apricots, then dry tobacco, cedar wood, heather honey and very subtle peat smoke. The palate is silky and velvety, with a waxy texture attributed to Clynelish, and flavours of butter biscuit, toasted hazelnuts, a touch of sherry sweetness and dark chocolate with orange peel. The finish is long, dry and tannic, with lingering bonfire smoke, old leather and mixed berries.
