Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a large 1.75 litre bottle. It carries no age statement.
The blend draws on Cardhu and Benrinnes in Speyside, Clynelish in the Highlands, Caol Ila and the closed Port Ellen on Islay, and Cameronbridge for the grain whisky. Stock from closed distilleries such as Port Ellen and Brora is part of the make-up.
The nose combines dried fruit, honey, citrus zest and vanilla with a light veil of peat smoke. On the palate it is honeyed and silky, with hazelnut, dark chocolate and sherry. The finish is very long, with cocoa, cinnamon, caramel and gentle peat.
