This is a limited edition of Johnnie Walker King George V, a blended Scotch whisky from John Walker & Sons, released to mark 2021 and the Year of the Ox. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The blend draws on rare casks, including whisky from the silent Port Ellen distillery. The design carries artwork that reinterprets traditional Chinese patterns, with a knot motif referring to the custom of hanging knots for good fortune in the new year.
Rich fruit and plenty of spice sit alongside creamy vanilla sweetness, with a little maritime Port Ellen smoke running into a long finish.
