Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour 48 Year Old (70cl, 41.8%)

Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour 48 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky made from whiskies aged for at least 48 years, drawn from four 'ghost' distilleries: Port Dundas, Brora, Glen Albyn and Glenury Royal. It is the third and final release in the Johnnie Walker Masters series, with an outturn of 288 bottles, in a 70cl bottle at 41.8% ABV. The nose has soft smoke with seaweed and salty air, then dried fruits, molasses and leather-bound books. On the palate come currants, cinnamon-infused apples, star anise, crushed peppercorn and oak embers, with baked caramel and butterscotch.
