Jura 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Jura Distillery on the Inner Hebridean island of Jura, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spends ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then is finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez.
The two cask types give it a copper-gold colour, with a gentle warmth, a subtle smoky undertone, dark chocolate and vanilla cream.
The nose has gentle sweetness, cereal and vanilla pod, with soft dark fruit and a whisper of wood smoke. The palate is medium in weight, with toasted almonds, light spice, dark chocolate and ripe stone fruit. The finish is moderately long, with cocoa and a dry, gentle salinity.
