Jura – 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Jura 12 Year Old is a single malt from the island distillery of Jura, bottled at 40%. It spends twelve years in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon, then finishes in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, honey and toffee, while the sherry finish adds dark fruit and spice. The smoke is light. Honey, citrus, a little smoke and chocolate show on the nose. Praline, toasted almonds, ripe plum and oak spice follow, and the finish is long and warming, with sherry sweetness and a hint of sea-breeze smoke.
