Kaiyo 7 Year Old is a Japanese whisky, supplied in a 75cl bottle. It spends seven years in bourbon barrels and then a further six months in a mizunara finish.
The nose is dry and fragrant, with sandalwood, incense, long pepper, grapefruit, coriander leaf, pencil shavings and red pepper rice cracker. The palate is silky, with light honey, vanilla and fudge, rising to pepper, coconut and green apple. The finish brings aromatic spices and tangy orange.
