Kaiyo Mizunara Oak Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Kaiyo Mizunara Oak is a Japanese blended malt whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration. The malts come from Japanese sources that are not named, and they mature in Mizunara oak casks. Each Kaiyo bottling is given extra maturation during a sea voyage lasting several weeks, intended to bring the whisky and the wood into closer contact through movement and changes in temperature. On the nose it shows ripe banana, tropical fruit, vanilla and Mizunara spice. The palate is soft and fruity with sweet malt, spice and dry oak, leading to a medium-length, lightly dry finish.
