Kaiyo The Ramu is a Japanese pure malt whisky made from 100% malted barley, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and not chill-filtered. It belongs to the Wood Library series. The whisky spent six years in Japanese Mizunara oak, then the casks went to sea for three months, as with every Kaiyo whisky. Back in Japan it was finished for two years in casks that previously held JM rhum agricole. The nose is vanilla cream, butterscotch, fragrant spice and honey-roasted nuts. The palate offers honeydew melon, citrus peel and juicy raisins alongside vanilla fondant and rooibos tea. The finish brings dried orange, floral honey, oak vanilla and creamy lemon.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
