Kavalan – Peatist Ex-Bourbon Cask (70cl, 56.3%)

A single cask whisky from Kavalan in Taiwan, part of the Peatist series of peated bottlings. It was matured in American ex-bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength, in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is distilled from peated barley, and its maturation is tuned to the climate of Taiwan. The nose pairs gentle peat with ripe mango, banana and longan, alongside coconut cream, vanilla and honey. The palate brings vanilla butter cake, tropical fruit and warm wood, with a well-integrated smokiness. The finish is long and soft, with lingering warmth.
