Kavalan – Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask (70cl, 58.6%)

Kavalan Peatist Ex-Sherry is a peated single cask whisky from Taiwan, bottled at cask strength, 58.6%, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. In the Peatist series the distillery uses peat as a counterpoint rather than a dominant force, with the style tuned to Taiwan's climate. Every Peatist bottling is a single cask at cask strength. The nose is described as smoky peat alongside pineapple and mango, with toffee, roasted plums and dark dried fruit. On the palate, citrus and buttery toffee meet dried pineapple, dates and spice. The finish is long and warming, with chocolate, coffee and nuts.
