Kavalan – Solist Vinho Barrique 2018 Single Cask (70cl, 58.6%)

This is a single cask Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique from Taiwan, bottled at a cask strength of 58.6% in a 70cl bottle. The cask yielded 155 bottles. The Vinho Barrique spends its maturation in wine casks, both red and white wine barriques. Once they have held wine, the casks are scraped and toasted under control to bring out the full intensity of fruit before they receive Kavalan spirit. The colour is deep autumn gold. On the nose there is vanilla and caramelised sugar with dark chocolate, ripe melon and mango, kiwi, and delicate citrus with pepper in the background. The palate is rounded, clear and complex.
