Keeper's Heart 10 Year is an Irish single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled at the Great Northern Distillery from 100% malted barley, using copper pot stills.
The whiskey spent ten years in bourbon barrels before a finishing period in Malaga wine casks, an uncommon choice for Irish whiskey.
The nose offers cereal biscuit, honeysuckle, dried apricot, toffee and almond. The palate is rich and malty, with caramel, stone fruit, raisin and peach pie, kept in balance by oak. The finish is smooth and lingering, with dried berries, marzipan and gentle oak spice.
