This is a five-year-old Irish pot still whisky from West Cork, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
West Cork was founded in 2003 by three friends, Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy and John O'Connell. Two of them were fishermen before, and the third worked as a food developer. They drew on the advice of Dr Barry Walsh, a former master blender at Jameson, and Frank McHardy, previously master distiller at Springbank.
The team uses spring water from the nearby River Ilen and Irish-grown grain, which is malted by hand on site.
