This Irish whisky from West Cork is finished in port casks and bottled at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
West Cork began in 2003, founded by three friends: Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy and John O'Connell. Two were fishermen before, and one was a food developer. Dr Barry Walsh, a former master blender at Jameson, and Frank McHardy, previously master distiller at Springbank, advised them.
The team uses spring water from the nearby River Ilen and Irish-grown grain, which is malted by hand on site.
