This Irish whisky from West Cork is finished in virgin oak and bottled at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
West Cork was founded in 2003 by three friends, Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy and John O'Connell: two former fishermen and a food developer. Dr Barry Walsh, once master blender at Jameson, and Frank McHardy, formerly master distiller at Springbank, joined them as advisers.
The distillery takes its water from the nearby River Ilen and uses Irish-grown grain that is still malted by hand on site.
