Kilchoman – 100% Islay 9 Year Old Madeira Cask (70cl, 50%)

Kilchoman 100% Islay Madeira Cask is a 9 year old single malt from Kilchoman Distillery on Islay, bottled at 50%. It is a limited release and the first time the 100% Islay series has been matured partly in Madeira casks. The maturation is 30% Madeira casks and 70% bourbon barrels, and the peating level is 20ppm. The whisky is golden in colour. The nose has fresh vanilla bean, buttery shortbread and floral notes. On the palate come roasted pineapple, baked peaches and honeyed nuts, and the finish carries soft roasted coffee, banana cream and gentle peat smoke.
