Kilchoman Batch Strength is a permanent part of the core range from the Islay distillery. It is vatted from roughly 70% ex-bourbon barrels, 20% re-charred Portuguese red wine (STR) casks and 10% Oloroso sherry butts, with a few drops of water added after maturation to bring it to 57% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has earthy peat smoke, coastal air, red fruits, fresh cherries and heather blossom. The palate is rich and silky, with sweet toffee, vanilla, dark chocolate and salted caramel, balanced by baking spices and lingering peat.
