This is a limited edition Islay single malt from Kilchoman, released in 2022. Casado is Spanish for married, and the name refers to peated Islay whisky joined with Portuguese red wine and port casks, with a port finish.
It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The nose brings strong peat smoke with red berries, dark grapes, sweet spice, vanilla and a hint of chocolate. On the palate it is full and intense, with smoke, sweet fruit, caramel and spicy oak, and the port finish adds fruity depth. The finish is long, smoky and fruity, with dark berries, spice and a touch of sweetness.
