Kilchoman Genesis Stage 3 is an Islay single malt bottled at 49.4% ABV, one of a series following Kilchoman's route from barley to bottle over 1130 days. It was filled into 3600 bottles.
The whisky was matured mainly in Bourbon casks (70%), with 25% in STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) casks and 5% in sherry casks.
The nose is vanilla and sweet malt with citrus and a complex smokiness. The palate is creamy and sweet, with fresh herbs, caramelised sugar and oak. Sweet peat smoke and fruity, fresh herbal notes linger in the finish.
