This is the 2025 edition of Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength, an Islay single malt bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release of the cask-strength Machir Bay since its debut in 2022. The whisky is heavily peated, at 50ppm, and was matured in bourbon and sherry casks.
The nose is fruity and floral with light smoke, vanilla and honey. The palate has chocolate and citrus, smoked meat and caramel. The finish is long, with peaty smoke, spice and lightly caramelised fruit.
