Kilchoman – Machir Bay Cask Strength Edition 2021 (58.3%)

Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength is the 2021 edition of the distillery's standard Machir Bay bottling, released at 58.3%. It is the second cask strength release of this expression. Machir Bay is the name of a beach not far from the Kilchoman distillery on Islay. The nose is fresh and wild, with phenol, a salty maritime breeze, some grain and subtle citrus. The palate is salty and smoky, like bacon fried on the beach, yet also sweet and malty with firm spice, gradually turning drier. The finish is long, with clear smoke and maritime notes that linger.
