Machir Bay is a single malt from Kilchoman, a farm distillery on the west coast of Islay. Kilchoman was built in 2005 and is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. This bottling comes in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, and is described as a balanced blend of tropical fruit, peat smoke, light vanilla and sweetness.
The nose brings citrus, vanilla bread rolls and layers of peat smoke. Tropical fruit and raisin open the palate, with warming smoke carrying on behind. The finish is sherried fruit with cracked black pepper.
