Kilchoman – Sanaig (70cl, 46%)

Sanaig is a single malt from Kilchoman on Islay, bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added colour, in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry hogsheads. Sherry is the dominant influence, owing to the significant time spent in the oloroso casks, which gives the whisky a markedly deeper colour and character. It is described as a marriage of bourbon and sherry maturation, balanced with classic Islay peat smoke and a light citrus sweetness.
