Kilchoman – Sanaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is named after an inlet on the island's rugged Atlantic coast. The whisky is a vatting of sherry and bourbon casks, with a high proportion of Oloroso sherry influence, and is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration. The Oloroso adds dried fruits and spice to Kilchoman's citrus sweetness and peat smoke. On the nose there is heather, raisins, pear and orange peel with stoned fruits, mixed spices and rich peat smoke. The palate offers ripe plums, red cherries and citrus, then barbecue peat smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate. The finish brings mixed fruit, caramel, cinnamon and clove with brown sugar and lasting sweetness.
