Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in bourbon and sherry casks, and the malt from the bourbon casks also received a finish in sherry casks.
Sanaig now sits permanently in the Kilchoman range.
The nose brings stewed fruit, fruit compote, caramel, vanilla and toffee, with mineral notes and sea salt in the background. The palate is peppery, soon joined by toffee and fruit sweets, sweet lemon and caramelised apple. The finish is long and sweet, slowly turning saltier and drier, with traces of cold ash.
