Kilkerran 12 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt made at the Glengyle distillery, which was founded to keep Campbeltown as a whisky region in its own right. It is run by the same team that operates Springbank. This bottling is 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is vatted from malt matured in bourbon casks (70%) and Sherry casks (30%). Kilkerran is known for a traditional Campbeltown character that blends maritime, lightly peated and fruity notes.
It is described as creamy and peppery, with lemon meringue, soft smoke, caramel, a faint minerality and lingering maritime salt.
