Kilkerran Heavily Peated Cask Strength Batch 6 (70cl, 54%)

This is Batch 6 of the heavily peated, cask strength Kilkerran, a single malt from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown. It is bottled at 54% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from the Gaelic name of the settlement where Saint Kieran had his cell and where Campbeltown now stands, chosen by Mitchell's Glengyle to continue the town's distilling tradition. The nose offers citrus, vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb and custard sweets and delicate peat smoke. On the palate come baked Bramley apple pie and sweet salted caramel, with well-integrated peat and a fresh coastal note. The finish is long and creamy, with toasted oak, pencil shavings and sweet, fruity peat smoke.
