Kingsbarns Balcomie is a Lowland single malt from Kingsbarns Distillery, near St Andrews in Fife. It takes its name from the beach close to the distillery.
The whisky is matured entirely in first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry casks of American oak, sourced from Jerez in Spain. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added colouring.
The nose brings ripe red apple, orange zest, honey and soft caramel, with raisins, cinnamon and almonds. The palate is creamy, with honey, toffee, dried fruit and gentle oak spice, lifted by citrus and burnt sugar. The finish is long and soft, with sherry, nuts, cinnamon and a hint of oak.
