Knappogue Castle Twin Wood is a 14 year old Irish single malt in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is triple distilled and released in small batches.
The whiskey is matured in two types of cask, bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks. The bourbon oak brings creamy vanilla sweetness and the sherry casks add dried fruit. It is non-chill filtered.
The nose is honeyed malt, toasted oak, dried apricot and soft vanilla. The palate shows caramel, ripe orchard fruit, subtle spice, toasted almond and sherry sweetness. The finish is smooth and lingering, with gentle oak, light spice and warm fruit.
