Knockando – 12 Year Old (70cl)

This is a twelve-year-old Speyside single malt from Knockando, a distillery founded in 1898 and extensively rebuilt in 1968. It comes in a 70cl bottle. No colouring is added, so the colour is entirely natural. Knockando works with two wash stills and two spirit stills, draws its water from the Cardnach Spring and takes cooling water from the River Spey. Maturation is mainly in ex-bourbon casks, with a smaller share of sherry casks. The distillery bottles each malt when it judges the whisky ready rather than at a set age, and the label gives both the distillation and bottling dates.
