This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Knockando, an official distillery bottling in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It comes in a tube. The distillery stands on a bend of the River Spey in Moray and was built in 1898.
The whisky was matured in sherry casks and refill bourbon casks. It is unpeated, is chill-filtered and has colouring added.
The nose has baked apples, cinnamon and nutmeg with dark chocolate and sherry, and lightly toasted wood comes through with time. The palate is intense and silky, with dense fruit, wood, cinnamon and clear sherry influence. The finish is long, with wood, light toasted notes and lingering sweet spice.
