Knockdhu 10 Year Old - Wormtub Single Cask - PX Sherry Hogshead

This is a single cask Knockdhu, aged for ten years in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead and bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company at natural cask strength, without filtration. Knockdhu is made using traditional wormtub condensation, and the spirit has an oily texture that meets the sweetness of the PX cask. The nose offers marzipan and roasted hazelnuts with bright orange, and a fine honey sweetness. On the palate there is rich caramel, black pepper and cinnamon, with the oily texture carrying the sweet PX notes. The finish is long, with bitter dark chocolate and a structured, woody note.
