Köfererhof Sylvaner R Valle Isarco 2019 (75cl)

A white wine from Köfererhof, a family-run estate in the Isarco River valley in Alto Adige. It is made from Sylvaner and is the one wine at the estate matured in acacia wood casks rather than stainless steel. The estate farms six hectares of its own vines plus five of contracted parcels, on steep, well-draining slopes between 650 and 850 metres. Practices have been organic since before 1995, and the wines ferment spontaneously. The nose shows vanilla bean, dusty white flowers, crushed pear and a little sweet spice. The palate is silky, cut by bright acidity and citrus, with white peach, Golden Delicious apple and a stony note. The finish is long and salty, with candied lime.
