Kujira 31 Year Old is a single grain Ryukyu whisky from Okinawa, Japan, in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled from 100% Indica rice using Okinawan black koji.
The whisky matured for more than 30 years in selected Sherry, Bourbon and White Oak casks, then spent a further year in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks. Only 999 bottles were released worldwide.
The nose offers dried fruits, caramel, oak spices and hints of tropical botanicals. On the palate are rich dried fruit, toasted oak, caramel pudding and subtle tropical herbs. The finish is long, with lingering toffee and fruit.
