Kujira Ryukyu 5 Year Old is a Japanese single grain whisky made from 100% Indica rice. It was matured in first-fill white oak casks in the subtropical climate at the southern end of Okinawa.
It has a woody aroma and dark fruit flavour, with a smooth, mellow body and a sweet finish.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and a little liquorice, with woody, spicy notes from the oak. The palate is sweet caramel with fresh vanilla and a hint of oak tannin. The finish is smooth, mellow and sweet, with woody notes and peppery spice.
