La Madrina Pisco Mosto Verde Torontel is an unaged Peruvian pisco made by Fundo Tres Generaciones, established in 1856, from Torontel grapes grown in the Ica Valley.
It is a mosto verde pisco: the must is distilled before fermentation has finished, so more grape must is needed for each litre of spirit. It is distilled in copper pot stills to proof, with no additives, colouring or flavouring. Torontel is the only variety used.
White flowers and green grape lead on the nose. The palate is smooth and supple with a whisper of sweetness, and the finish is subtle, refined and long. It can be sipped neat in a small tulip glass or over a single large cube.
