La Raphaëlle Liqueur de Plantes (70cl, 45%)

La Raphaëlle is a French herbal liqueur bottled at 45%, made by the Distillerie des Alpes. It follows a recipe created in 1865 by Hyppolite Bonal, a former monk known as Frère Raphaël, which gives the liqueur its name. More than seventy botanicals go into it, including lemon balm, hyssop, vulnerary, thyme, sage, marjoram, hibiscus and vanilla, with ginger, citrus peel and gentian also in the profile. Separate distillates and elixirs are prepared, then blended, and the Maître-Distillateur works them in a copper still.
