Lagavulin – 12 Year Old Special Release 2023 (56.4%)

An Islay single malt, Lagavulin 12 Year Old is bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.4%. It forms part of Diageo's annual Special Releases and belongs to the 2023 Spirited Xchange series, whose packaging was illustrated by artists from around the world. The 2023 edition is finished in Don Julio Añejo tequila casks, an unusual choice for this distillery. The nose is very smoky, with tropical fruit such as mango, and citrus. The palate is powerful, salty and fruity, leading to a long, complex finish.
