Lagavulin 12 Year Old Special Release 2024 is an Islay single malt known as Fireside Tales, bottled at 57.4%. It matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and refill casks.
The nose is smouldering bonfire, carbolic soap and rowan berry jam, with phenolic smoke and warm spices. On the palate it is creamy and soft, with coconut, smoke and toffee, followed by salty and medicinal notes. The finish is long and smoky, with a touch of warm spice.
