The Lagavulin release for Feis Ile 2021, a 13 year old single malt finished in Port-seasoned American oak casks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is mild, with a fleeting sweet note of candied chestnuts followed by an oily, mineral character. The texture is thick and oil-smooth. The palate starts sweet, then turns piquant as waves of smoke, salt and pepper take over. The finish is long, still intensely piquant and noticeably drying, leaving a nutty, smoky aftertaste.
