This is Lagavulin 16 Year Old from the 1990 Distillers Edition, a single malt finished in PX casks.
The colour is deep amber. The nose pairs heavy smoke with chocolate, alongside soot, strong espresso, coal, beef stock and liquorice.
The palate is just as dry, with coffee and liquorice, bitter toffee, malt and stout, then peat and hints of coriander.
