A 16 year old Lagavulin from the 1990 vintage, this is the Distillers Edition, which is double matured. The whisky is deep amber in colour.
The nose pairs rather heavy smoke with chocolate, followed by soot, strong espresso, coal, beef stock and strong liquorice. The palate is as dry as the nose, with coffee and liquorice, bitter toffee, malt and stout notes, peat and hints of coriander.
