Lagavulin 16 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, bottled at 43% ABV. It is deep amber with copper highlights.
The nose opens with thick peat smoke, kiln air and warm ash, with sea spray, iodine and oyster shell, and dried fruit, toffee and vanilla beneath. The palate is full-bodied, with bonfire smoke, charred oak, sherry-tinged dried fruit, caramel and brine, then black pepper, clove and dark cocoa.
The finish is long, warm and smoky, with ash, oak, dark chocolate and salt.
