A single malt from Lagavulin on Islay, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2019 at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This is the Distillers Edition, an annual release, double matured with a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose is intensely peaty, with warm smoke, raisins, dark caramel and a hint of sea salt. The palate is creamy and full, with sherry sweetness, dates, spices, soft layers of smoke and a touch of dark chocolate. The finish is very long, warming and sweet-smoky.
